Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare to establish mine closure management systems
- Access, interpret and apply mine closure management systems documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements

Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and proceduresimplements procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient completion of the establishing and maintenance of mine closure management systems including:accessing, interpreting and applying technical informationaccessing, interpreting and applying mine survey informationaccessing and analysing archival and historical information related to the minedeveloping and maintaining risk management procedures and policiescommunicating technical information, rules, procedures, regulationsaccessing, reading, interpreting and applying legislationproviding leadership and guidance for group activitiesfacilitating and documenting risk control planningapplying records and document maintenance requirementsapplying procedures for monitoring and determining changes to processexplaining complex information to superiors/subordinatesproviding coaching and mentoring supportadopting communications styles appropriate to listeners and situations, including selecting an appropriate time and placetaking a leading role in initiating action and making decisionslistening actively, asking questions, clarifying points and rephrasing others’ statements to check mutual understandingworks effectively with others to establish and maintain mine closure management systems including:managing people and processesresolving conflictcoordinating human, financial and physical resources developing, initiating and administering work plansinterpreting and applying operational performance dataengaging internal and external stakeholdersdemonstrates completion of the establishment and maintenance of mine closure management systems that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:identifying the relevant information and scope of the workidentifying and addressing the full range of statutory/legal requirementsidentifying all aspects of the mine closure management systemidentification and selection of viable options for the establishing and maintenance of an underground mine mechanical plant management system that best meet the required outcomes through:identifying all aspects of geological and hydrogeological information and mining induced stressidentifying all stakeholders and managing related interaction/negotiationsestablishing the audit and review system
